Quaker Hill Civic Association

The QHCA is a membership organization and actively involved in community affairs. It was organized in 1973 and incorporated in 1981.
The Charter provides for the following mission:
"The corporation is organized for the purpose of preserving the amenities and natural beauty of the Historic Oblong (designated by the Treaty of Dover 1731), known from pre-Revolutionary times as Quaker Hill; of maintaining and extending the open spaces; of area planning by way of zoning and the like, and for the promotion of all public and civic interest of concern to and common to themselves, such as fire, water and police protection, maintenance and improvement of roads, and advancement of education; to meet and exchange ideas and information and take as a corporate body such steps as its individual members could not conveniently or effectively take for their common welfare and interests; to promote the general welfare and common interest of its members, and to provide for their mutual protection and benefit; to stimulate social and
intellectual intercourse among its members."
